And the Light Shined in the Darkness

In the Beginning,
when the Heaven was unformed,
when the Earth did not yet bear a shape,
there was Light,
and there was Darkness,
separated from each other.

And in the Light,
there were Five Greatness;
the Eternal One,
crowned with the diadem of everlasting glory;
And in the Darkness, there were Five Chambers,
forever moving, forever devouring each other.

And the Light shined in the Darkness,
and the Darkness comprehended it not.
For in the Darkness,
there was Avarice,
and there was Desire,
and the Darkness was envied of the Light,
that it fought the Light.

And the Father, like a Good Shepherd,
used his Son as the bait, to chase away the hungry beasts,
that the Abyss devoured the Son,
and hide the seeds of Salvation.
The Son cried unto the Father,
and the Father sent forth his redemption,
the Living Spirit fought against the angels of Darkness.

Out of Light and Darkness,
the Living Spirit formed the Heaven and the Earth,
the Sun and the Moon,
and there were Seasons,
that the Cosmos may become the Field of Purification,
for this is the Middle.

The Darkness, when beheld the beauty of Light,
its Rulers then imprisoned the Light,
in flesh and blood, Male and Female They created them,
that the Light and the Darkness may become inseparable,
for the Spirit is in the Flesh,
as the Light is in the Darkness,
thus our Parents were born.

The children of our Parents were fruitful and prosperous,
and there were cities and nations,
and the children have forgotten the Light within,
and there were bloodsheds and wars,
for out of the Flesh all wickedness and sins were born.
The Righteous Ones cried unto the Father,
like the Son that was devoured by the Darkness,
“Deliver us!”
And their cries reached the Father.

The Father answered the cries,
it came to pass that in the land of Vishtaspa,
He sent forth a messenger,
who taught the two roots of Light and Darkness.
To the Indians,
there was the Enlightened One,
that opens the gates of Salvation,
and in Galilee,
He sent forth the Crucified One,
the beloved Son who suffered and died on the Cross,
but he suffered and died not, from him sprang the eternal grace.

And in the Land of the Babylonians,
He sent forth the Seal of the Prophets,
the great Physician,
who perfected the Divine Teachings,
who was the Messenger of Light,
who was the Comforter.

Let us praise the Spirit of Paraclete,
who brought forth the teaching of Two Roots,
who revealed the truth of Three Periods,
who unveiled the things that shall come to pass.

And in the End,
as it is written in the Seven Vessels of Salvations,
Darkness will be separated from the Light,
Flesh will cease to be,
that the Light may be freed.

A New World shall be built in place of the Old One,
where Light will be Light,
and Darkness will be Darkness,
and the Abyss will be overthrown,
that the Splendor of Light will reign in the Aeons of the Father,
forever and ever.

Such is the Knowledge,
that shall set us free.
